Taken from 15,000 feet this October 8, 1970 photo of Randolph AFB catches the southern (Old Town) end of Universal City.  Note that Schertz is in a housing boom itself, as evidenced by the new construction in the upper left of the photo.  At the bottom of the photo across Loop 1604 from Randolph High School are the outlines of several streets.  This was a failed venture to build a community called Airport City.  Only a few houses were built and the area is now part of Converse.
