HOFFMAN HISTORIES

Hoffman Histories is devoted to subjects that I like and that I think you will enjoy. I currently have three historical subjects to offer.

The first is "Memoirs of a World War II Fighter Pilot," which was authored by my father, Lt Col, USAF (Retired) Charles L. Hoffman, Jr., who flew Lockheed P-38s.

The second subject concerns Landsberg Air Base, Germany, a base at which my father was stationed from 1955-1958 and which was a great experience for me.

The third is a "History of Universal City, Texas," which was written in celebration of the 50th Anniversary of the city's incorporation in 1960.

Use the buttons below to gain access to the histories.  Comments are appreciated via the "Contact Me" button at the bottom below.

Hoffman's History Page

This page is devoted to historical subjects that I like and perhaps you will enjoy too.

First, there are the memoirs of my father, Charles L. Hoffman, Jr., who was a World War II fighter pilot in the Mediterranean Theater of Operations. He flew 50 combat missions in the Lockheed P-38 Lightning with the 94th Fighter Squadron, 1st Fighter Group, 12th Air Force and 15th Air Force from August 1943 to June 1944. He was a proud member of "The Greatest Generation" and was my hero. Click on "Memoirs of a World War II Fighter Pilot" below.

Second, is a History of Universal City, Texas, which is the gateway to Randolph Air Force Base and is northeast of San Antonio. I have lived in Universal City off and on since 1970, and recently the city celebrated its 50th Anniversary since incorporation in 1960. A group of us wrote this history, which is in draft form. If you have memories of Universal City or have photographs to share, please contact me at the link below.
