In August 1957, as the number of Americans assigned to Landsberg Air Base decreased, we were able to move into larger quarters in House 47. Our apartment (first door from the right) had three bedrooms (my brother and I were upstairs where the dormer windows are), one bathroom a kitchen, a dining room, and a large living room. We also had a huge basement with a laundry room, drying room, and several storage rooms. The Wing Commander, Colonel Joseph B. Latshaw, lived in the apartment to the left of ours. We lived here until June 1958, when we returned to the States. (Michael Hoffman Photo)
